Food Sovereignty Workshop '16

On Saturday, January 30, 2016, members from San Xavier District and Native Seeds/SEARCH were part of a workshop, Food Sovereignty is a Human Right, presented by Rainbow Marie Lopez. "Food Sovereignty is a Human Right" addressed issues concerning indigenous food sovereignty, how to eat well, and live healthy nourished lives.

Tucson World Indigenous Day'12

On Saturday, August 11, 2012, over forty people gathered in Tohono O'odham Nation's Recreation Center to participate in Alianza Indigena's UN International Day of the World Indigenous Peoples community teach-in event. Water Blockade Report '15

Mario Luna Romero and the Traditional Yaqui Leaders were in Tucson's Pascua Yaqui Reservation on Saturday, November 21, 2015 to share, report back and meet with people from Tucson, Phoenix, and California. The group of eight were very happy to be in Tucson to meet and share with the small group of people who attended the event.

Youth Border Action Festival'12

Alianza Indigena's first annual Youth Border Action Festival and Teach-in brought together elders and youth across Indigenous nations to share and learn about history and cultures and unite in the struggle for Border and Indigenous/Migrant Justice. The gathering featured border rights, using community radio for social change, youth contributions to the movement, a panel of elders, storytelling, poetry, art and graffiti, and Chican@, Tohono O'odham and Yaqui culture and history.

On September 11, 2014, plainsclothes officers arrested Rio Yaqui spokesman and leader Mario Luna, one of the main organizers in the struggle for Yaqui water rights in Sonora, Mexico. We protested to demand his release.
